Oh, the humanity! I can only imagine the number of patients who has to undergo an examination with this beauty. They sure don't make them like this any more, maybe guys were tougher back then, I don't know. Anyhoo, what you see is what you get, This cystoscope comes in two pieces, the handle which houses two "D" batteries (not included) and has the on/off switch and a pair of clips on the top. The second piece consist of the eye cup on one end and a lens and light housing on the business end. This unit is in working condition...the battery housing is squeaky clean with no corrosion. The light switch is a little sensitive, that is you need to slide it slowly up to make contact, but if you continue pushing past the center point it will lose contact again. Maybe the terminals need a cleaning but I am not going to open it up, since it works fine as is. Can't really get a picture but you can absolutely see whatever the lens is pointing at from the other end. The eye cup does have a few chips taken out of it (pictured). I believe the eye cup is made of Bakelite, which would date this unit to the pre 1960's. Otherwise, this unit would make an awesome statement piece in any antique medical device collection.
