I pulled this item out of my grandfather‘s collection of unusual items. I thought it looked pretty nice regarding the condition so I decided to list it. I’m not exactly sure what this thing is but let me explain to you what I see regarding this instrument. If you turn the handle on the top, it is spring loaded, and the little gear pushes up a rod and if you let go over the handle, it’s totally spring loaded and it’ll come back down. It looks like it’s in very nice condition for its age. I really don’t know how old it is, but it looks like something from the 19th century, maybe. I’m not an expert at this thing . It looks like it is in very good condition however. I’m listing another gadget that is kind of unusual in my store that I don’t know what it is so take a look at my store because grandpa had a few of these gadgets that were unusual so I decided to list them not knowing what they were. I combine shipping also. I’m really accurate with shipping and I’ll pack this with care. I weighed it and I know the size so I’m nice and accurate. I think it’s in nice condition with the original patina and it’s still pretty shiny and the brass looks kinda nice. I think it’s pretty cool. Obviously, I don’t know what it does so I don’t know if it works or not… I explained to you what it does that I saw… You crank the handle and it’s spring loadedand it pushes up that rod on top.
